YCLC Virtual Give Day Schedule!
12am-12am | Throughout the day, we’ll be “building” a special project with Howe Wood Products, and sharing YCLC student and alumni success stories.
8:00am | Breakfast & A Book in Bed – Enjoy breakfast in bed while local author, MJ McCluskey, reads her newest children’s book. “Captain Dargo: Born to Serve” tells the story of real life K9 officer, Dargo, who currently serves and protects the York community.
11:00am | YCLC Student & Alumni Small Business Hour – Hear about some amazing local businesses owned by YCLC students and alumni – you may be surprised! We will also give updates on operations and how you can support them during this time.
12:00pm | Cooking with YCLC – It’s amazing how many of our students’ are great cooks! YCLC will share a student’s family recipe and provide a virtual cooking lesson to help you prepare a delicious lunch.
2:00pm | Afternoon Storytime with Jellybean – Wind down for some quiet time with local children’s author, Beverly Stiffler Smith, and her pup, Jellybean, as they read “Naughty Little Puppy”. Follow the antics of naughty little Jellybean as she romps through the house leaving a trail of mischief behind her.
5:00pm | Quarantine BINGO – Make a donation to YCLC between 9am-10am on May 1st to receive a Quarantine Bingo Card. Complete the card, post it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, and tag us @YCLC or #YCLC to enter to win a Giant gift card! Two winners will be randomly selected and announced at 5pm!
6:00pm | Sweet Tips for Job Seekers – After dinner, join Peggy Baker, YCLC Next Step Coordinator, for a presentation on tips and advice for job seekers – i.e. resume writing help, how to dress for success, where to look for job postings. BYO Dessert!
8:00pm | Virtual Slumber Party! – Hop back into your jammies, grab the popcorn and come to our Facebook Watch Party*. Donate before 8pm on May 1st for access to a Facebook screening of a film. The movie is a surprise – we’ll let ya know when you donate!
*Facebook Watch Party allows for a private group to watch a live screening together, while members can comment on the videos at the same time to create a shared viewing experience – just like we’re watching together!
9:00pm | Un Cuento para Dormir – Tuck in the kiddos and enjoy a bedtime story read in Spanish by Brittany Haines, YCLC English as a Second Language (ESL) Assistant.
